Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

ServerTent provides a directory for discovering and promoting game servers and online communities. By accessing the service, creating an account, submitting content, or purchasing Premium, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any policies linked from them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your location. If you use ServerTent for an organization or community, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate information, keep it current, protect your credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. You may not impersonate another person or organization, transfer an account to evade enforcement, or create accounts through unauthorized automation.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or the service, comply with law, investigate abuse, or address security risks.

3. User content and listings

You retain ownership of content you submit, including listings, images, descriptions, links, reviews, and replies. You grant ServerTent a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and promote that content as needed to operate and market the service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies reasonably retained in backups, legal records, or content shared by others.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that it is accurate, lawful, and consistent with our Community Guidelines. You may not submit infringing material, malware, phishing links, deceptive claims, private information without authorization, or content that facilitates unlawful or abusive activity.

We may review, edit, label, limit, hide, or remove content and may change how content is ranked or presented. We do not endorse or verify every listing, review, external link, server, or community.

4. Premium subscriptions and billing

Premium is a recurring subscription attached to a listing. The price, billing interval, and included features are presented before checkout. Stripe processes payments and may collect billing information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Unless canceled, Premium automatically renews at the end of each selected monthly, quarterly, or annual billing period, and the payment method on file is charged the then-current price. Taxes may apply. We may change pricing or features prospectively and will provide notice when required by law.

You may cancel through the ServerTent billing controls or Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; access continues until then.

Payments are non-refundable and we do not provide credits for partially used billing periods, unused time, listing removal, account suspension, or failure to cancel before renewal, except where required by applicable law or where we expressly agree otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory cancellation, refund, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

Premium improves presentation and unlocks specified tools, but does not guarantee placement at all times or any traffic, votes, reviews, members, revenue, availability, or other outcome. Failed, reversed, disputed, or overdue payments may result in loss of Premium access.

5. Acceptable use

You may not scrape or access the service through unauthorized automation; attack, probe, overload, or bypass security controls; spam users; manipulate votes, reviews, rankings, or engagement; misuse API keys or webhooks; introduce malicious code; evade moderation or rate limits; resell access without permission; or interfere with another person's use of ServerTent.

6. Third-party services

ServerTent may link to or integrate with third-party services, game servers, Discord communities, payment providers, and websites. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, policies, or conduct. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

7. Intellectual property

ServerTent's software, branding, design, and original content are owned by ServerTent or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not grant you a right to use our trademarks or copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer protected parts of the service except as permitted by law.

8. Service availability and disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, error-free data, or that listings, communities, links, rankings, or user claims are accurate, safe, available, or suitable.

You are responsible for maintaining copies of content important to you. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ServerTent and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid ServerTent during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using ServerTent or delete your account through Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, risk, prolonged unavailability, or legal reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, licenses already exercised, disclaimers, and liability limits, will survive.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice for material changes when appropriate. Changes apply prospectively from their effective date. Continued use after they take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
