More votes, higher position
- Large communities can dominate through size alone.
- A vote says support, but little about the player experience.
- New and smaller servers struggle to build initial visibility.
How ServerTent Works
Traditional toplists usually ask one question: who has the most votes? ServerTent combines player reputation, current support, and freshness so useful communities have more than one way to earn visibility.
The difference
A vote-only board naturally favors the communities that already have the largest audience. Our default Rank view keeps votes meaningful without allowing raw scale to tell the whole story.
Default Rank
Rank is a comparative score used to order listings. It is recalculated from current listing data, and no single signal can fully substitute for the others.
These weights describe the maximum contribution of each signal. They are not percentages displayed on a listing.
Average rating is adjusted by review volume, so a proven track record matters more than one perfect score.
Votes show current support. Logarithmic scoring means early votes help most and massive totals produce diminishing returns.
New listings receive a modest, gradually declining freshness signal rather than being buried immediately.
Confidence over hype
ServerTent tempers ratings with limited review history toward a neutral baseline. As more players contribute, the observed rating has more influence. Listings without any review evidence also receive a small ranking reduction.
Fair by design
Toplist vote counts reset monthly, while a configurable cooldown limits how often each player can vote for the same listing.
Premium and Founder status do not enter the default Rank calculation. Featured placements are presented separately from organic ordering.
Rank is the default, not the only perspective. Sort by Most votes, Best rated, Lowest rated, or Newest whenever another lens is useful.
Visibility and moderation controls keep banned or hidden listings from competing on public boards regardless of their score.
